Abstract

Objective: To discuss the definitions of sepsis in human and veterinary medicine. Design: International, multicenter position statement on the need for consensus definitions of sepsis in veterinary medicine. Setting: Veterinary private practice and university teaching hospitals. Animals: Dogs and cats. Interventions: None.
